The author
Cathie Hubert is a French artist and writer, lover of poetry, music and opera.
Brought up by opera lovers,she grew up with Maria Callas and Wagner.She has lived in UK for 12 years and is now back to France since October 2017.
Founder of Ashdown Gallery near London,she also created a small publishing company to publish her art books, an homage to the greatest living tenor. She plans to publish more art books with other artists too, all inspired by music and the operatic world .
"Opera lover and artist, I had to express what I was feeling after hearing tenor Jonas Kaufmann sing Manon Lescaut at the ROH London in 2014.
Deeply moved by the beauty of his voice and his unique, soulful,intense interpretationsI decided to paint and write what I felt, as a response to his artistry."
Her first book,"Mon âme a reconnu votre âme" is a collection of watercolors monoprints and poetry.
Cathie finished a second book end of 2016, this time with pencil drawings, poetic texts and poetry. The book is called " Capteur de merveilles,Jonas Kaufmann". This book is the result of 2015 and early 2016 recitals and operas she went to.
